Enjoy less visited paths of Medvednica (hill above the city of Zagreb). The start of the hike is in one of the hilly residential quarters of Zagreb (once it was a village) which can be reached by public transport (tram). Very soon we will leave the residential area behind and start moving uphill in quite thick forest. Following a short section on dirt road we will cross one of many springs that flow across Medvednica to start one of the steepest sections of our hike. When we pass this steepest part the views around us will become quite rewarding. Very soon we will reach the point from which we will have very nice view over the city of Zagreb. At approximate 850 metres of altitude we will pass by a complex of deserted buildings which still radiate with charm and mystery. We will come close to the station of recently constructed cable car (lower cable car station) and will continue our hike to the top of Medvednica (peak Sljeme, 1032m). It will be then possible to descend by taking ultra-modern cable car or we can pick a different route to come back to downtown Zagreb by hiking.
